Can we agree finances without going to court?
Yes. Many couples are able to reach an agreement regarding finances through negotiation. Where an agreement is reached, it can be formalised through a financial consent order, which is submitted to the court for approval without either party needing to attend court.
Do you offer fixed fee family law services?
Yes. Ramage & Ramage specialises in fixed fee family law services. Our approach allows clients to understand the cost of each stage of their matter from the outset, with payment plans available to help spread the cost.
Do I need a solicitor for divorce?
It is possible to apply for a divorce without a solicitor. However, many people seek legal advice to ensure that important matters such as financial settlements, property, pensions, and child arrangements are properly addressed and legally protected.
Do you offer remote appointments?
Yes. Ramage & Ramage operates as a modern boutique family law firm offering remote consultations, allowing us to assist clients across England and Wales while providing flexible appointments that fit around work and family life.
What happens if we do not get a consent order after divorce?
Without a consent order approved by the court, financial claims between spouses can remain open even after the divorce has been finalised. This means that, in some circumstances, one party could bring a financial claim in the future. A consent order provides legal certainty by formally recording the financial agreement.
